question on map rebuilding

Post by [cc]z@nd! »

well, i want to basically put the single player ghost's and single player banshee's collision model into a map, but i've been out of modding for a while, so i was wondering if i was right on this:

i batch extract the map and rebuild it using the sp banshee and ghost [coll] collision models, and use hmt to replace the mp ghost and banshee collision models with the sp ones

if i am wrong with the rebuilding process, i'm at school and can't risk being caught by a commie librarian while looking at a rebuilding tutorial, so correct me and i'll check myself when i get home

As long as you're only replacing items in an MP map, you shouldn't have to do anything but rebuild it after replacing.

Also, I'm not sure, but couldn't you just extract the coll from the SP map and inject it into the MP, or are they different metasizes?

i've sincerely got no clue about the sizes, but i might not do it at all if i can't get every vehicle destructible, otherwise it isn't very fair...

by the way, how would i get a turret from death island and get it in bloodgulch? map rebuilding? pmi? i'm not posotive... :?

Sparkedit. All maps have the cturret in them, just none of the originals use it.

yeah, my partner filled me in on this in aim

say, i'd like to have the driver of vehicles be damaged by hitting walls too hard, et.c is there a check box i'm missing in the original hmt? or is this more complicated?

I don't recall there being anything in HMT for that. You might want to look (or have someone else look) at the HEK and see what file that is in and if you/they can, find the offset for it.
