hello, first post but i been around the forums a bit and i know u guys can help me.
no matter what drivers i use for my graphics card, when i z00m in its just a blur, it cant handle that cool effect halo is meant to have. im guessing its a shader.
the finnished product i would like is a mod where by when u zoom it doesnt use that shader, and makes it look like it does when halo is run in fixed function (-useff in the target line of any halo shortcut).

please post me replys as to how exactly to do it (i have hmt3) or if ur feeling real nice u cud make the mod on all the maps i know how to apply .ppf

If it's able to do it with useff, why don't you just use that?

because useff makes everything else look s*** as lol. try it yourself. i only want that certain shader gone. i wanna keep all the rest

Okay then, null out the zoom effect under the WHI or something.

what i use is hmtv3.5

1) then i would open up the map
2) then i would go to the weapons
3) then i would click the gun that u want to have a zoom (if its a pistol or a rocket u have to have 2 zooms then change the max zoom)
4) then save map and close

ah in that tag u can only switch em around it seems i dont know how to remove those particular shaders :/
and none of the other huds are suitable for the pistol and snipe :/

well.... i think this is what you mean....


1)open up the map in HMT v3.5
2) then go to the weapons tag
3) then click the gun(like a shotgun)that u want to have a zoom and add.. like 3 more zooms... and when i do it it just zooms the HUD and does not go in to the evil sniper thingy... >.>;;
4)save map and close HMT v3.5 and play...

but is the zoom thingy a bitmap...?

He wants to get rid of the Sniper and Pistol zoom bitmap. I'm not on my own pc right now, so I can't check.

thanks for that idea man, it'll definatly work, it wont go into the zoom hud atall then.
im sure its not a bitmap, cos otherwise mine wudnt be screwed up. also running it in useff, it just removes all the shaders, including that one on the zoom that messes mine up, so im confident its some kinda shader

meh it dint work, it still uses the same hud no matter how many zooms u put on. ><
need to edit that hud!!!!!!! (or just erase it)

i found the bitmaps that tells halo where to put the shaders, but when i edit it and save like i wud a skin, it messes up. :S

sorry... and dont tripple post plz...well if you mod a nother gun that dose not have zoom... it works..

try applying my bloodgulch ppf mod. its pretty crappy but the ghost is completely invisible and warthogs fly, and plasma grenades just float but the sniper has a modified zoom. it might help. oh and by the way dont fire banshee bullet because it shoots plasma nukes lol. plus i messed the map up and put teleporters everywhere so you can go to all your fav sniping spots behind invisible walls. the map works and everything though, its not screwed up but you should backup your original bloodgulch before you apply the ppf.
