I've started on a new mod about a week or two ago but I am having trouble about the ppf for the bitmaps. In the end of the mod I am going to be adding to the bitmaps and possibly the sounds. I would like to know how this is done.

no hes adding completely NEW bitmaps without overwriteing and pre exsisting ones so NO you cant make it a ppf becasuse itll be larger then pre-exsisting bitmaps file
so basically hes rebuilding the bitmaps.map

I think I saw someone post an utility which makes something like a ppf, but for rebuild maps. It's very old, and I think it was posted by Dark Cloud or Deadly_Shadow.

try patchmaker, and see what file size you get, make sure you don't have the options where it intalls the file if it's not present, that will make the file bigger, also you must remeber the file ver. number, if the bitmaps file of the downloader uses the patch you made, and their cache file versions are different then, they can't apply the patch, there for you might need to .......... hmm, find the version, like 1.00.00.456 (just and example) in a hex editor.
