How to Mod the halo demo for multiplayer

To mod the demo you will need patience and
-HMT 3.5 (from the utilities section of these forums)
-.net framework

-open hmt> file>open>(find your halo map usually "c:\program files\microsoft games\halo trial\maps\bloodgulch.map")
-modding involves switching the associations between items and the "meta" tags.
if you want to replace weapons with others so everyone online also sees the switch you want to go to
item collection
click on item you want replace. say the plasma cannon.
hit "swap"
pick the one you wnat to swith it to. Say the sniper rifle.
hit save.
exit program
start halo
start a server
all people will now see a sniper there.
If you want to disable shees (the most common requested mod) because you want to cater to all the noobs who can't learn to kill them.
go to vehicles>banshee_mp
in the right hand column change the foreward speed to near 0 like ".0005"
save
and maybe change the damage the gun makes in the damage section
save
turn the shee into a sniper:
go to vehicle
banshee
beside the "ID: E54003CC @ 0x85931C" is three boxes. in one on the left
switch from "vehi" to "weap"
save (you'll see it is classified as a weapon now)
"swap" button
pick the sniper
save
I'm not sure multiplayers will see the sniper here....im still new at this
some of these kind of alterations when used in conjunction with another will work if you do one first then the other. but if you do the other first then the one it won't. thats just how it works. this program is free so don't whine. because the demo is full of whiny little boys. =) Thats why we play is to hear them wither in the face of death.
You can add plugins to HMT 3.5 ill ammend this thread if i find some good ones. or add some if you know any please.
