Flak Grenades and long-range single player flamers

First question:

OK, I just played a modded game online where when you threw a grenade in the air, it burst after a short time (before it landed). So it was, in essense, a flak grenade. I would like to know how to do this. Thanks. :)

Second question: How could I change the flamethrower's range? I thought it would be cool if there were "flametanks": Tanks with long-range flamethrowers instead of shells.

Third question: Would it be possible to import the flamethrower into single-player mode? How would I go about doing this? Is it possible?

Thanks for your help in advance! :)

The actual fire is built into the gun not the projectile. The flamethrower projectile is invisible cept when it hits. The actual weapon has the particle nozzle flame.

I think you have to wait until HMT3 supports single player map rebuilding.

well the flame projectile if set to be very low and the flamethrower gun fixes that.. idno why they did this, but they did and its kinda odd.. just change the direction of projectile from launch.. or try messing around with the projectile settings in hmt

ok there is a problem with the flamer projectile that u might encounter. if you ever used the grav rifle, u will notice it shoots invisible fire. the flamer projectile actually has no art, or model, or whatever you want to call it. the fire you see is actually an effect, and you cannot extend that fire you see because it is an effect. the grav rifle is shooting the flamer projectile, but there is no reference to the flamer effect, so the fire is invisible. and you cant import stuff to sp yet.

Look ,it's just because the projectile has no contrail, and the flame is an effect built into the gun. You can extend the range on the projectile, but it will have no defoliant (the large flame on a flamethrower, not just the particle system).

Not true....you just have bad video card or your options are not fully enabled. I can shoot into the air with the flamethrower and see the flames without hitting a thing.

That's because your using teh flamethrwoer, they actually got intricate with the flamethrower, if you use the grav rifle or just swap the flame projectile, there is no flame except when it hits.

ok look, its kindah like this:

FLAMETHROWER META ---> flame projectile ---> burning effect
MORE FLAMETHROWER META---> the flames that you see

the flame projectile is invisible. when it hits something it does the burning effect, which you can see. its the thing that causes you to continue burning after you have been torched. the weapon meta references the flames that you see. they are not the projectile. they are a visual effect. the flame projectile is made so that it has a life span and speed that matches with the fire you see so it looks like the fire is the projectile. when you use the grav rifle, it has no reference to the visible flames effect but it does reference the flamethrower projectile. so thats why you get invisible fire.
