AR with Night Vision?

I've seen this posted once by a fellow modder, but they never got an answer. Does anyone know how to give a different weapon (such as the assault rifle) night vision, since my latest set of mods all feature the maps at night? I've tried swapping Bitmaps and weapons HUDs, but can't quite figure it out. I do know that Night Vision and the Flashlight are two completely different things (since you can have the flashlight off while Night Vision is on), but I aside from that. I'm lost. I'm sure some of the great modders here have conquered this little dilema before. Just tryin to get this season to be the best before Halo 2 comes out! Only a month away! Wooooooooooo!!!! Much thanx!!!! :-D

I'm sure this has been done before. I know I've seen it here, but I don't think it really gave an answer.

you might try giving it the zoom-prperties of the sniper-rifle and cranking zoom to 0 so as not to screw your FOV up too much. i believe that zoom-properties are part of hud.

and dont double-post, that's what the edit btton is for.

That would be correct :-) And I did try to apply that to the pistol and certainly zoomed in like the sniper rifle (hud wise), but to my surprise, the night vision still wouldn't come on. I think it might be a device on the sniper rifle or something, i'm just not sure how to transfer it to another weapon. Good suggestion though! Thank you! :-)

try doing a duplication of the sniper rifle, give it an AR model/melee/ammo and set zooms to 0...no, set 'em to 1, 0 disables zoom.

Kewl! Now, when you say get the AR model, you don't mean like Milkshape it right? Never really could figure that program out. lol. Do you mean like swap ID tags?

yes, after the duplication, use HHT to swap the models/effects/whatever, just leave hud alone, or any effects yu dont recognize (as they could be the NV effect)

also make sure you re-name it to the assault-rifle and remove the old AR.

Ya I heard some issues about Service Pack 2 and my comp downloaded it, but I have no plans of installing it. Hope ur comp is able to return to normal with reformatting. Too many bugs that still need to be worked out. So I'll just stick with Service Pack 1 for now :-)

Ouch. sry to hear that. not to mention there's always stuff u gotta download in addition to programs like HMT to get it to run, and sometime's it's easy to forget. Well, I hope you're able to fix everything :-)
