HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

The last time I asked this people just said insert it with HMT...well, I have no clue how to use that program. I have downloaded skins off of here and cannot find a FAQ on how to put them in. Could someone explain to me, or give me a link on how to do it?

ok two ways to do this

ONE: if your skinn iss a .ppf file

download heplful the halo hacking tool (in the file forums under utilities)

open the HHHT

designate the maps folder and create and designate a mods folder

drop the .ppf into your mods folder

re-open the HHHT and hit 'view all mods' select the mod for your skin, select 'bitmaps.map' and hit 'apply'



TWO: if the skin is in ,DDS format

get HMT 3.5 (also in files frum)

open a map (any map, shouldn't matter)

scroll down to 'bitmaps'

select the bitmap that the reskin is for

in the box on the right there is a button for injeting things, click it

browse for your skin

inject it

hit 'yes' to any boxes that pop up.

Right, well I did that, but when I tried to open the maps, it said "cannot open, the archive is either in an unknown format or damaged", how can I fix that?

The textures are in .dds format. Also, in HMT, I cannot open the main program, and I think I need to DL whatever .dll is. Could I get the name of it so I can search for it?
