why did you say that? i am in the process of converting right now. (2-3 minutes left... i just have to do the final build). o well.... i did EXACTLY what the thing said. word for word. lets hope it works...

dude, you misunderstood, open the b40 map in sparkedit and select a letter and find it...it shows textured meshes dude....remember? :roll:

Because its been said over at gearbox forums, and they are a pretty reliable source as they are mostly pros...

oh yeah... i remember that bsp menu thing now... i neva opened a sp map in s-e b4 :?

and its D40_F and i heard sum1 say that anything over B wont work... is tis true or whut?

w00t! i did it! i converted! just didnt get the right part of the lvl. ill try _b next time. but... I CANT FIND ANYTHING!!! its all terrain! where are the spawns? where are the weapons? if this helps: i replaced over BattleCreek. i g2g for tonight.

Well, its usually under the level in the original MP map shaped cluster, a way to find it is look at the original camera location values, and then head towards that location....

lol once you've moved the spawn points, just prepare youself just incase you get hugged by Mr. Exception :D

It won't let you rename if you have items open in programs that are within that folder dude, cos they are in use, changing the folder name changes the location, therefore it won't let you, till you release the items from memory.

Well, if you have something from the tes folder open in HMT, its being used, so u can't rename a folder said file is in till you close the program. Thats what I meant...

Top dependency? Well, I'm not super at modding, but if you recursively extract something, it might be a file referenced near the top of the meta.xml file...just a guess...

I think the reason why anything after mapname_A doesn't work is because the A file contains stuff needed in the other bsp fragments, the reason I say this, is because when I open up saw d40_a in SparkEdit, have you ever noticed that there is a load of scenery etc from later BSP sub-meshes, in the A mesh, I for example can see all the way up to the lift, there just no actual bsp u can put yourself on....

You get me? Have a look yourself...I think I'm right, if not could someone explain it?

I think this could be the source of that whole SparkEdit error :D

maybe, just maybe, if you open the map in sparkedit, delete all the un-needed stuff, and then do the tut from there, it would work without the SE error? Just a thought...

Cos after you do the build, that stuff isnt there, so it would make sense if the map file is referencing them, and they arent present, hence unnamed file seek failed...maybe?

I'm hard at work on my d40_a, trying to get platforms, damn things are always for BG, I need build ready scenery files lol. Any pointers on what maps have decent sized panels I could export and use?

I am gonna build a huge structure for the other side of the map :D

well, the elevator from 343 GS has been used in some mods as a good platform. Even mono used it in AotCR :wink:

The only snag I can think of is that SP devices and such can't be deleted...so I guess thats pointless, unless moving them inside the BSP can solve that? But I believe the triggers get deleted...who knows, maybe someone can try this...

i figured out a way to move stuff even if u get a spark error.

you open up spark edit and load the map ur tryin to convert, then goto the bsp that ur using and grab sumthing, anything and move it to the spot where u want a spawn point for example to be, then u get object info and record the location. now close the map, and open the map ur using as ur base, then u have to use the goto location or w.e its called, and type in the coordinates, then move the spawn point to teh flashing green light, then save, and now use that map as a base when u convert teh sp map.
