Marble Pillar
use the offset feature and the clone brush to make seamless textures
make the brush have soft edges and a relatively large brush size... 20-30
to offset it, take the textures dimensions (say 500x500) and plug half of it into each box (for this, it would be 250 and 250)
did you take this texture offline? if so, you should learn how to create your own textures and use those created textures along with the marble one...

Some areas look somewhat decent.. But I'm not going to lie, others (most) look horrid. Especially the Grunts.
This could go somewhere, but at the moment, it looks a bit... Thrown together.
This idea could be somewhat cool if you did it right, such as: not skinning absolutely everything. Maybe skinning a lot of things, but also leaving out the things that make sense to keep a bit of a flow going.

Here's a few tutorials to make seamless texture's in PS
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
third link courtesy of pepsi a while (he gave to me to learn) the third tutoral is what i recommend because its easy to learn, but the first one is good for textures that come from outside.
meh use one and learn to make some good marble skins.

Thanks for all the feedback and the great tutorials.
Ok here is a "seamless" texture I threw together for the flooring.
The problem I encountered is that even with a seamless texture there are portions where the tile set rotates (namely the areas just before you enter the bridge are rotated creating 4 larger tiles instead of the seamless pattern).
The only solution is to make it a solid color which I'd rather not do.
So what I'll work on is making it look more like tiles.

I appreciate the feedback. I agree that the grunts still look fairly thrown together. I'll see what I can do about that.
What other areas in particular need work? I'd like any feedback you are willing to give.
Oh and it is marble... granite has little fragmented chunks.

It won't really work :\. It sounds like off setting and alining.guysullavin wrote:or he can:
1. get the texture, and cut about 20 pixels off the top
2. drag the cut piece to the bottom of the of file, then drag the larger piece up to align with the sides
3. then edit the large piece to have the pattern line up seamlessly with the cut off strip
4. then drag the strip back to the top and conjoin the pieces.
5. do the same for the sides and you should have a seamless pattern
of course i cant provide proof this works being away from my computer, but its my idea how to do this
This mod is almost as bad as this:

Seriously though, spend time on this, and you'll have an awesome mod!

For anybody still wondering where FTD has gone, here it is.

Absolutely horrible as of now, make better floor textures, right now it looks like you shredded kermit the frog all over the floor.
Spend some more time on the textures and make them actually look marble-ish, instead of changing hue/sat of the same texture.
Pepsi has a great skinning tutorial as well..

But I still hear the deafening drums of war onward every twisted spoke
