Not to be rude or anything
Does actualy, install open office and read the tutorials hanging about.
the library of media there should be more than sufficient for your needs.

wow dalek heres the best part

my question was..How do i extract the whole tag at once. I asked this because
cryticfarm wrote: Just recursively extract the weapon tag.
Recursive means it extracts the models, and all the other things that are referenced in the tag.
that is the reason i asked the question.

In the tutorial it does not tell me how to extract a whole tag at once.

then i asked do i need to extract the 3rd person/ 1st person models.

In the tutorial it does not tell me if i need to extract the 1st person model or not.

Since you replied to this thread you should of assumed that what i asked for is what i should get.

Simple answer for question 2. yes i do believe you need to.
simple answer for question 1. ok heres a tutorial on how to do it.

which leads me to something you said in another post first
Has this picture been taken on a high-end graphics card? Because it looks like bad graphics.
simple question you replied
dalek wrote:Screenshot was taken in Sapian before the tags were converted to halo pc and extracted for use in PMI.
Video card: Nvidia POV 8400GS overclocked to 1.4GHZ.
then you said later on
dalek wrote:Don't ask questions on a technical subject if you don't understand the technical answers so yes it is infact your fault.
and if you dont like the shaders i suggest you cease and desist with replying to this thread.
then
A simple yes or no answer would have been better
sorry to be an asshole im not usually one

In conclusion you telling my how to extract a whole tag at once, or telling me if i need the 1stperson view or not would of been better then making me download a word program then making me post this, what did my quotes above meen you might ask, it meens that give me a straight answer instead of giving me something that wont help me, like the tutorial. it did not answer 1 of my questions

good day sir.

Edit: i dont meen to be rude or mean or anything its just you said guite convincingly that my questions would be answered.

Well you obviously have to extract all the models, if you don't, their verts and inds wont be added to the decrapping process and they'll turn out like they've been hanging out in a blender set to 'death'. So yes, extract both the fp and 3p models, also decrap both. And why are you adding weapons? Does the map you are using have an insufficient amount of weapons? jw...

wait when i rebuild the map does it automatically have all the weapons on them???? i was under the impression i had to add them..if this is the case then what i said to dalek was completely unnecessary then if so the post will be edited.

I give answer's which Will help you, those quotes had nothing to do with this subject and further more he asked a question and i answered it is his fault if he wasn't educated to the standard on said subject to a normal level.
If you read the tutorial's around and used the word application you would have KNOWN you recursively extract all new items as it also extracts all dependencies linked to the tag.

an sp>mp replaces the bsp, that's it... its not going to delete anything from your original map. So only pmi what you want to add that your MP map doesn't already have.

the reason i quoted was because you give a technical answer when there is only need for a simple one and i read the tutorial over twice and in it, it does not mention AT ALL that all the weapons come when you convert the BSP to MP
dalek wrote:it is his fault if he wasn't educated to the standard on said subject to a normal level.
Ok for 1 my marks in school are in the 90's, for 2 this is my first bsp conversion, for 3 i dont spend 14 hours a day on the computer...

So stfu and guess what..
dalek wrote:I give answer's which Will help you"
YOUR ANSWER DID CRAP!!! I asked two simple questions that did not need a technical answer all it need was a simple one.. example

BSP does not contain scenery weapons etc. That is the scenario, so replacing the bsp does not affect them at all. You are overthinking this. An SP>MP just replaces the MP BSP with the SP BSP, so if you open it in Sparkedit, all the scenery, equipment etc will all be there in the same places, along with machines, vehicles, spawn points and netgame flags. Only PMI what your MP map doesn't already contain.
