ok, so im finally making some progress in some areas but now im at a stalemate..

i have tried to PMI into MP maps.

i can play them on my home server/lan

when i go to join a lobby server i get mr. exception. if someone tries to join my home server they get a exception.

i even went as far as trying to PMI a simple lifepod into timberland and that caused exceptions on both ends also when joining a dedi or someone joining my personal.

any clues?

and i had the lifepod set a scenery not a vehicle. like basically just swapping a duplicate tree and making the dupe the lifepod.

PMIs are not joiner friendly, I don't know what made you think they were. You would have a lifepod in your map file and they wouldn't, so how would you expect it to show up for them? and if you mean you want it to show up for you and not them, it depends on how drastic the changes are. Keep in mind the modified map file in larger than theirs, and things like lifepods will cause exceptions. Small rebuilt items that have no model like an effect or something will probably still work, but things with collisions, etc. you shouldn't even bother (it would be lame anyway). You can distribute the map file and have people play together if they both have the same .map file, but if you're going for a skin-like glove for all multiplayer maps, PMI isn't the best option.

ok,.. got another question...

i can pmi a vehicle into the map. no biggie, but say a pelican for example. but it keeps spawning on me. anyway to solve this where it will stay in one place just as scenery by itself?

and no i dont want to make no respawn time for vehicles, i know that trick. i want it as screnery, like i want it to just sit there like a rock or tree.

also.. is there a way to make it just "sit in the sky"?

physics. to make it sit in the sky, deleting physics should work. And what do you mean by it spawns on you? Btw, there is a crashed pelican tag you could PMI (which you should anyways so you can steal it's collision model). But nulling out something's physics will certainly make it stay exactly where it is.

yeah when ever i pmi a pelican (wow....aloong time ago) i always pmied the crashed pelican.
