Increasing melee force on vehicles

As from what I have read here, and with further experiments I have performed, it is impossible with HMT to increase weapon melee force on vehicles. Please give your input.

Here is what I did.

I swapped the damage tag for melee with the damage tag for a banshee bolt projectile (I added force to the projectile).

I am working on a mod right now, and the perfect finishing touch for it would be a melee that would launch vehicles or other players through the air. I think increasing the force value of the attack will probably work on other players (at least that's my theory - haven't tested it yet) but it seems to do nothing for vehicles, even ones with their gravity or weight turned down significantly. Is anyone aware of a way to do this through current known methods such as HMT, or am I out of luck? Thanks.

hmmm, no luck yet. I tried changing both the melee and melee response to type = Explosion. that had no obvious effect. I increased the force rating on both as well with no luck. I also found a setting under damage for cyborg melee - tried amping up the force on that and changing its type to explosion also, with no luck.

I did notice something that might be relevant, also. I had previously changed the pistol projectile to the mp gun turret, and given it a force rating of like 20. Well, that will very effectively flip vehicles over on a direct hit. Its type id is not set (shows up with nothing selected in HMT). Curious....

Force does work on vehicles it seems. I know for sure that force in either an explosion or a shockwave will send vehicles flying (esp. if you tamper with their weight and/or gravity setting). Part of my mod includes thermonuclear-grade grenades and rockets that within a few hundred feet of any vehicle, will make it literally fly to the ceiling of the map (as well as sending the players in the viscinity soaring). I know it's only the force rating doing that, because initially I didn't change anything else. Also as I mentioned, the force I added to a c gun turret projectile will flip vehicles up into the air, and it's set relatively "low" (only to 20, heh heh).

I've been having problems adjusting the force of master chief's melee attacks. I use HMT v3.5 and I've tried tons of stuff. I've set the force to 100 on cyborg_melee, plasma pistol melee, plasma pistol melee response, plasma pistol bolt, ect.
When I change the force on the plasma pistol bolt, I actually DO get the desired results ( I can send vehicles flying). It works on bipeds and everything. But it won't work when I set the exact same numbers for the melee attack. The melee WILL work on bipeds but, still, not on vehicles. I've also tried changed the ID from melee to grenade and explosion. I still get the same thing. I'm not sure what I'm missing.
I'm not sure if this is just a problem with my computer, or with it being halo trial, or if I have a screwed up HMT file. I have even installed Phenomena's 60 Plugins and it's still the same.

maybe its because of the impact of the material.
the damage tag might only apply to bipeds, maybe you can change the effect of the impact for the vehicle to the impact melee of a biped?

what I've done is made it so that ,say, when I shoot the plasma pistol (with much added force) I can make vehicles fly everywhere. Basically I took the plasmagrenade/explosion meta and pasted it over the plasmapistol/ bolt. But when I did the EXACT same thing to the plasmapistol/ melee tag (in the damage folder thing) it would do exactly the same as it had done to vehicles before I had changed anything.
The melee DOES work on bipeds and weapons and stuff like that, but still not vehicles. I've also tried changing the material type of vehicles ( to metals, grunt, cyborg, ect.) and all it does is make a different sound when I try to whack it.

Edit: It took me a few more re-reading, but I think I get what you are saying now and it makes a ton of sense.

*Yet Another Edit: I can't find anything having to do with melees of any sort in the effects folder. Could you specify please?

I tried adjusting the force. I put it around 150, but it only works on master chief, not vehicles. I made it so the pistol shoots out master cheifs like dummies and I test out weapons on them. The dummies fly across the map, but when I hit the vehicles, they move as much as if I hadn't edited it. I edited both the cyborg/melee and the assult rifle/melee, but it still doesn't really do anything.
See? I do use the "search" :)
