Well, the meta of an effe has multiple pointers to different things like particles and so forth, all you have to do is change tag reference ID's to any ID that is in that tag class, and you should be set.

Man, I have played a lot of games, I've been involved in a lot of gaming communities, but I have never before seen such an amount of elitists as I have on this site. Its absolutely sickening. I don't post much, but I read here a lot, and if this is the best the Halo community has to offer, then we'll never get as far as we could. I was browsing around the forums last night and this morning, checking out the latest HMT stuff and what not and was astounded by the fact that the elitists just seem to being getting worse and worse. I am so sick of every freaking thread having some jack ass post about...."Oh look, another noobie log mod..." or, "Now that we have this utility, all the noobs will be doing this...." blah blah blah. Didn't your mother ever tell you that if you didn't have something nice to say, not to say anything at all? Or how about constructive criticism instead of the elitist snob attitude? Suggestions on how to make it better....

On every thread that a mod is posted is some asshole telling the guy to "be original" cause people have already done the "platform" thing or whatever...give it a rest already, maybe the guy didn't like where the platforms were on the other mod, maybe he thought this one offered better game play. In my eyes its roughly equivalent to telling a guy that his skin for the warthog sux, cause, well....skins have been done. It doesn't matter that his is different, a skin has been made before...apparently it doesnt' matter if its better or not. Just dumb. Plus, as far as I am concerned, if you want to really break it down, there are only two original people on this site: Mono and Gren. (and a very, very small handful of others) Everyone else is just doing shit they have already done, so the rest of you people that think your shit is so hot, need to let that sink in.

I doubt my post here will have any influence on anyone here, but I just felt it necessary to say. Maybe atleast one person will realize, you know, maybe instead of just calling the guy a noob and putting him down, maybe I could share some of my experience with him and maybe help him make a mod that he wanted to make, but wasn't quite sure how. Maybe, just maybe, somebody might help someone make a really good mod instead of a mediocre one. I mean, if this site isn't for exchanging info on how to do stuff, then what is it for?

Actually, no, I was never thought that if you had nothing good to say, say nothing.
But "unexperienced modders"AKA the n-word, WILL do something like that.
For example, do you like to see mods that are just plain stupid, half finished, and don't even have a single nice thing on them?
For instance, Conversions.
It's very cool to see it, but many users just convert, move the spawn points, and do nothing else!!
That is just sickening, and it ruins the joy of converting.

To be honest, you have some points, but in general, i am sick of threads like this. HaloMods is the best Halo mod site, consider it this way, the only people who really oppose us are HackHalo who attempt to critisize us all the time anyway. We have some awesome coders here. Many people who are able to convert SP--->MP maps. Sure, with the tutorial it isn't a huge achievement, but it's something. We have Grenadiac, he made Sparkedit, even MonoxideC visits to post about his latest excellent inventions, like AOTCR or HMT3.5. How can anyone have anything against this site?
If there is anyone who is harsh on newbies, it's the members faults, not the sites fault, so don't put down a fine site. Remember one thing, for every forum, there's at least ten idiots.
