[kicking]how to?

sometimes i'm making my private stunt server, but like always ethere are anoying people. so i asked a guy who had is own private server how to kick/bann people, and he told me this.
step 1.
click on your right mouse button on the halopictogram
step 2.
step 3
change the name halo.exe to halo.exe-console
step4
press the button above tab.
step 5
enter sv_players
step 6
find the number or the player who is anoying, and press sv_kick 2 (for example)
and he's banned
is this true? i didn't try , i don't know if i could damage my files in some sort of way.
