I just installed Halo again... It ran fine, but after I downloaded the 1.06 update, it doesn't detect my disc...

Oh yeah, I'm using Deamon Tools insted of the CD itself because my CD broke.

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

You need to use the CD

That is exactly what you need to do, there is no exception. Clever idea of halo;s so you can't hack the game, or if you break your CD you are forced to buy another cd.

Is there any way I can contact Microsoft to get a replacement?

Yes, I believe that they will ask you for some information to prove you have the CD, like a serial number or something though, I'm not sure. Try calling them and see what happens

Let us know what they say if you do decide to call

waverunner you are wrong you could use a program (not tellin) got backup an iso of your halo cd then use deamon tools to mount the image to make it think you have another dirve using halo
did you try remounting the image maybe you moved it somewhere else on your hard drive so it cant mount it on startup.

I'm pretty sure that would be considered illegal, so I choose not to suggest anything like that

Just go to the microsoft homepage, they probably have a phonenumber there that you can use. Or, contact via email.

I don't thinks it's illigal to backup your cd I mean even if it is it shoudn't be
cause it's your cd and you have the right to back it up

That's not illegal, provided he is only using it for a backup. If he warezed it then that would be illegal.

just contact microsoft www.microsoft.com theyll give you a new cd for 5 bucks

Yes, I'm just using the ISO as a backup... My CD did break, here is a pic of it

Anyway, I went on Microsoft.com and found the Support section for Halo. I did an internet chat thing, and I was able to have them send me a replacement CD free of charge. It says it will get to my house in 12-14 buisness days...

the program is Alcohol 120% which I used before, you can use it illegally or legally if you have the original CD otherwise its warez...

I really don't know what happened to it. I took it out one day, and there it was, broken.

why not just buy the cd again. it's only a measely 20$.. lol
