Now, some of you may know me...And if you do, you know that in my complete time of being here i have only posted like..what? Two topics lol.

Anyhow, This is just a question to all the modders *or site viewers* out there.



I am just wondering, how people discovered modding for Halo, and the site itself.

Just a little question.

Here is my story:

I was playing a game (when new to halo) and kept going BOOM.
Eventually i realized that there was a guy standing on the roof of Bloodgulch (invisible ceiling) shooting tank shells from an unlimited ammo sniper. So i tlaked to him a bit, and learned that there is a thing called modding. Later in the month the Library for PC came out and he IMed me the link to the topic to Download. There I learned of the site

So i registered, and months later, here i am!




I'm just curious about your discoveries

Sometime when school ended last year, I finally burned Halo and installed it. I played, played, couldn't stop, but then after beating it I wanted more. So I googled halo cheats, but found nothing, then I looked for halo hacking, came across www.hackhalo.com, then I learned the term halo modding, and googled halo modding, and hit upon this site in July. And I lived happily ever after at HaloMods.

Found this place back in January. Played a game that had FireGulch installed, and the dude walked me through installing the mod. Awesome stuff then, nothing special anymore. But, meh. lol...

I was playing in a game, and some guy had a wierd shotgun.

when it fired, hogs etc flew about, and people were thrown up in the air.

ofcourse, i didnt understand what he was talking about when he sed it was firing plasma nades, coz i couldnt see them, then he told me it was modded.

a bit later, i googled halomods

with me... i was trying to play in the desert storm mod for bg and the guy said it was on but since i didnt have the mod it seemd normal for me so he said go to www.halomods.com and do a search for it.. i never found it... but i signed up for the forums cus i had nothing better to do... and here i am! interesting topic, btw.

HunterXI told me the site...I signed up the day he told me which was like 2 weeks after he did, and I for got my username and password...then a couple of weeks later I registered again and here I am...

I joined a game and saw hogs flying.They told me to go to Halomods to learn more.So I did,and registered later.Now,when ever I run a mod,and people ask how,I explain it to them.And tell them to go here.Cause other people dont help them out.They call noob.

My friend told me about sapien.
And I searched forever to find it.
Until google poped with halomods as an result.
Then it said topics of being mad hek didn't come and stuff...

I first got into modding when i just randomly joined a halo pc server and i saw the hog going higher and higher and then i noticed it was flying... so i started to ask questions and they pointed me in the right direction... I wonder where i would be if i hadnt started to mod? hmmm....

i was lucky. i already knew of mods from other games, and i thought halo would have it to. all great do. so i googled it. and here i am. or am i?

I got Halo for PC and almost immediately started looking for mods. Google'd Halo mod or something like that, this was the first one that came up.

actually, now that i think of it, i found out about this website by accident... think it was a link. i joined, but forgot about it for a couple days or weeks, and then i just posted once. and everyone hated me cuz i bumped a topic from like pg 3...

I'm going to add a new question now:
What started you modding? I know people are members of the site but have never made a mod before. So for those members, etc, i want to know what started you to mod.

Was it because it looked fun and stuff? Or just simpley to try some new things out. Perhaps even cheat? Tell the truth, because i won't lose respect for you if you originally tried it to cheat.

Also, what was your first mod ever? And what type of mod? (projectile swap, skin, etc)

AND NO! I do NOT want to know about your first mod released to the public, but rather the first one you ever made, whether it was just dying a tank completely green, or makeing the shotgun shoot plasma grenades.

My first mod ever was an attempt to change everythign i could. Originally i started with changing projectiles, then moved on to jumping speeds, climb on walls, damage, force. You know...the "n00b" stuff.

too many questions.... and i dont mod. and i just said something pointless. again.

on my school's forum, it used to be okay, but now its literally all spam now. you wont find a topic answered. if they came here, they would be banned before they knew what hit them. literally, a whole page this is an example of two people talking on a thread:

then on the next page, some goes ????? and the two guys go "hey you broke the pattern!!!!!" some of those guys have like 2000 posts. i wonder why....

How is that relevant?

Anyway, my first mod was homing rapid fire rocket pistol and a super fast warthog on Blood Gulch. Oh and the plasma pistol shot out decoy cyborg bipeds that you could divert homing rockets with.
