Ok, so I realized that there are many things I miss about Halomods (that used to be), and so I made a little thread to just rant/talk about whose days have gone by.

I'll start:

1. I miss the old look. I would gladly be forced to kill 1,000 Covies to get it back.

2. What ever happened to all the cool people? Old timers would know who I'm talking about: Sourceguy, WaLKa, Hivemind, CLuis, MaCeGaC, Aztec, BOLL, Mono (BIG time), Deadly Shadow, Dankbutter, TsukasaZero, M.A.C., IWTPH2... Where did they go? Where to did they leave?

3. Why did the following people have to leave? Veegie, Peabnuts, Xero, etc...

4. Why can't anyone ever overtake me for posts? Everyone's failed trying. Ya know, the top spot gets boring...

5. Despite what everyone who ever left this site said, this site hasn't fallen apart. And yet, it feels so lonely. Almost like the n00bs've left. Oh how I wish the smart ones would come back...

6. Mono, Mono, wherefore art thou Mono? Sometimes I wish you were back here...

7. Gren... Please. I'm begging.

8. Deadly, oh how I miss your tuts...

9. Making maps for CE sucks. Modding PC was so much more fun... I miss it with everything, but it is a dead science. Modding PC was actually fun, and not a tedious, annoying process, that required nothing more than your creativeness and knowledge of the mapfile. But who cares about the mapfile now when Tool does it for you? Who cares when you could learn how to work a $3400 program instead, and make something other people will appreciate? My point is simply that PC modding was about respect for yourself; you did what you wanted and had fun with it. Modding CE (If you can even say that) is all about working your a** off to make something, that in the end, you yourself won't appreciate. You won't have fun with it; you've worked far too long on it. Plus, not everyone can do it. Makes the n00bs feel left out. But I guess my point is moot, isn't it? CE took Meta knowledge and shoved it down PC's throat, and that was final. Too final for me. But I digress.

10. Whatever happened to having intelligent arguements around here? As far as I can tell, the only people left all think the same things... Ok, that was random. Nvm.

11. The geeklog thing is cool, but I prefer the old look, even if it means that your story can't be published right away (ever heard of email?). It's what the forums are for anyway, right?

12: Gren: Please fix the "Smooth Blue" Color Scheme on the front page (a few displacement errors, and the whole link color thing). [Would be] much appreciated.

13. How many people mod nowadays compared to back then? This place feels... so lonely...

I really miss all the old people.Ive been here sonce January,but didnt register lol.Hint(to lazy).It would be great if they came back(except M.A.C.).I personal say that Halomods is overrun by noobs.But after time,thoese noobs arnt noobish anymore.They get smarter,ect...
I still prefer pc mods over Halo ce maps just because it was a challenge to overcome problems.In Halo ce,these problems are almost non-exsistant.The main people I would want back,are Mono,and BOLL.I liked the original template for the site,but I also like this one.Cant choose lol.I would try to be your post count,but you need to do me a favoer.Stop posting lol.Mabey then I could catch up.This is just my personal opinion

Oh, just so ya know, mac and M.A.C. are different people. mac was a flamer/spammer who never contributed in the slightest, and M.A.C. was a really cool person

I like this colour scheme, but i like the old one 2, maybe an option on the user preferences ?

I also miss everyone, even though, like Yomama, i didnt join to a bit ago.
There seems to be little development, i mean, howmany major PC breakthroughs have their been recently, CE - XBOX, Icefires AI thingy a while ago... thats about it.... Its all old questions now, and nething new isnt really looked into.

Yah I liked the old setup more (this one is good to though). I don't think I've seen any of monos posts before, despite my stalk - er. lurking...

I liked the old halomods ALOT but who knows mayve we'll be able to mod HALO 2? It'll all start over again, that's the cycle of life man. (no seriously)

I never made a map before so I don't know much about that...


Has anyone BESIDES me noticed that the new post count is down to like 4-5 a week? I started noticing this back in the middle of the summer (july/june I think) I lurked for a week and the same dang threads were still up and getting new posts the following week (after the weekend).

I think the time halomods almost died was during those fatal weeks between july and august. I watched as voided left, templar left, and then during those weeks I saw the site truly grind almsot to a halt I reckon it would be dead by now if one of the mods hadn't figured out how to ban mac.

Speakig of which I could sense mac was getting "lonely" to. He used to be an evil little git who flamed any and all people but check out this, it was when I saw him start to give up:

Dang the mod deleted his posts. Well I am amazed that post is still on the main page After all this time.

I tihnk halomods kinda died over ths summer, it was all fine and dandy then the dreaded mac came along. Alot of people left over the summer.

I have to say maca s's posts don't seem to be slowing down alot though [+] .

I reminice to much... lol I find myslef missing my past no matter how abd it was... I bet it's part of human nature to miss the past.

OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG OMFG.....I WANT THAT TEMPLATE BACK.... *calms down*, yeh, i don't like this one anymore...and i want mono and BOLL back....*rants*, and yes, this site is a n00b hangout...and PC mods were so much funner....if that is a word...

I want all of the mentioned back (I never remember BOLL posting though)

I miss the old look too.
Sure this one's kinda halo-y, but the old one was just sweet.

You can still find SOME intelligent arguments in Halo Discussion, but I refuse to read a book based on a game (or whatever).

Some of the old school modders drop by now and then, just the other day I saw Hivemind on.
*Gasp*
You pretty much see all the old school modders on the mIRC channels.
But they've all got their reasons on why they've left, some good some bad. Like if they say theres too many n00bs...Well they should come back and check it out now.

Ya, I've been looking around here since December when I wanted to mod halo.
I oringinally came to post my models but those where back in april...
The place is basically 90 people posting.
And I liked the times we just modded instead of make maps.
When Mono or Nirto posted one of their best mods like AOTCR mp and forest gulch.
I mean I'm really not an old timer.
But I happened to be here since december just joined a bit late.
And I remember M.A.C's posts.
But don't wanna remember mac's posts.
WaLkA's videos.
Maybe they will come back if halo2 goes for pc and they end up making hmt for halo2 and stuff.
But I was infact here when people where all hyped up for hmt v3...
The memories of the old good template is going to waste.
And I never seen Templar in a lllllllllong time.
And I'm gonna start the officail leave for me.
I've went a way for a while before and now I'm gonna do it forever (unless they make a halo2 forum.)
31 days till I go.
EDIT: Once I see another elite leave I'm out to photoshop design forums.
So I can regain my touch with sigs and web design.

I'm going once halo2 comes.
I only joined to pass the time for halo2.
Because 7th and 8 th grade the boring times of my life.
I used to help out somewhat in hmt and stuff before hek came.
I was busy with like 6 aim windows all of them asking questions.
But when hek came I was totally lost.
They should've just stuffed every hek program into sapien including max.
Hek to me, I the reason I stopped modding for fun.
And for every other reason.

personally what I think is that the admins have totally left this place... I mean c'mon whens the last time you've seen Gren on?

what needs to happen is to get some admin that will keep this place up-to-date and like listen to ppl, not just post something, and then leave.

You know the same thing for the moderators, its like only 1 or 2 out of the assigned moderators actually do anything, but meh, I dunno

the other one looked much better, I would have to agree that this place is just a n00b hang out, call me a n00b as well as you wish, I came here in July when I got Halo, so ya, this place is generally dead...

Just yesterday
Gren drops by now and then. Don't what he does because he just comes on, five minutes later hes gone. No posts, no anything.
We need to get rid of the Mods that have left, and replace them with the more often people.
