Recording movies

How do you guys record those movies when ur playing halo? Do you like download a program and then like hold a key on the keyboard and it records? Because many amazing and cool thing happens to me in halo at sudden times and i can only screenshot it. The most amazing that that happened to me before was when I was the driver of a warthog, I had a passanger and a gunner on it which max the hog full. But then this one guy jumped on my hog and he managed to go with us. I really wanted to record that.

www.fraps.com that is what most people use to record Halo for pc/ce

Is there a free recorder that you can have unlimited recording minutes w/o having to register and buy it?

No there isnt(i think) but you can get it anyways, if ya know what i mean
