Way before files.halomods.com:
Halo 2D Demo
Ever thought of a Halo in 2D? Well, check out this vid. What is shown in the vid so far is a turret, wraith ,plasma grenades, pistol, grunts and the covie dropship! Great vid uhh... unknown! Download it
here.
darebel
I have no idea who made it.

**hint hint**
Actually this is back when there was an ftp, so the vid is no longer there.
All right. For nostalgia's sake:
I will NEVER release it. It's god awful.

I'm wondering who came up with the idea it's for gameboy. And I might release the 'demo' and MMF 'source' for those who want it. But beware, it used to be a TGF game, it's really unorganized and I sloppily fixed errors. You'd be better off taking those ridiculous sprites and making a new game.
And the controls aren't set-able. You could change them, but it's a little hard. Aiming as of now is only straight in front of you. Ugh. I don't think I will. If you do have MMF (or even TGF), drop me a PM and I'll probably send you the caa or gam file.
My Halo RTS ended up much more playable, but I got a major setback when it got corrupted, so it's back to a basic state right now. Not to mention it goes a little slow, but vehicles are near perfect (they seem to run into buildings sometimes), atleast they turn nice. And the snow kick for the warthog is beatiful. Elite sticky throwing is a little off, but they only throw at marine occupied ghosts, and never seem to miss, but they all throw one at the ghost. It looks bad. The buildings tend to be glitchy with elites, that's fixable.
I usually use the GTA1 style people for top-down games, the legs are a sinch.
EDIT: Oh, and the vehicles are straight from Sparkedit.

Hey, if you want, you can send me the MMF source for that Halo 2d game and then i can fix any errors and include it as a game demo in HTFOR if you like?

@Ollie, I mean Lanche: I used Macromedia Fusion. You can get it at clickteam.com.
@Spartan: I just *tried* to send you it, not sure if it made it there though.

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipients failed.
[your email address]
So that isn't gonna work. I can't do it on MSN, or AIM, or apparently email.
I'm a little stumped.
If you have DC++ or IRC or whatever, we could do it that way.

It's Dan, I like it nice and simple. Just name the server and channel. I'd rather you not change anything unless you have to.

hey, i know this is noobish, and you probably already covered this, but, what programs are you using to create those 2d games, and where did you learn to do it?

Multimedia fusion ->
clickteam.com
Make some real simple games and work your way up.
Might want to try The Games Factory first, same website. It's really the same thing, but a little simpler. Just make sure to get the 32 bit version.
