Where's Linda, Fred, Will, and Kelly!?

All HALO 2 stuff try to keep in the HALO 2 Thread if possible, but I didn't catch this topic early. Just try to remember please.

Most of the spartans died on Reach, though others died in previos missions. Sam blew himself up with a covie ship getting to defend the Mjolinr Armor. James was never really confirmed dead, but i have no doubt he died.
On the station over reach, he was knocked into space by someone with a needeler.

Read what i've posted about Linda in the I love bees speculation forum... i think i posted 2 or 3 times about her. in short, i think the'll make an appearance in Halo2. as for the others... im not sure. remember, the books are what COULD have happened before the 1st halo, and in between 2 and 3.

whoa!

Look, i've read all the books twice, and yes, John, Fred, Will, Kelly and Linda all survive, and ill bet that you'll fight with them in Halo 2.

But here's my question. In the first book, all of the remaining Spartans come together in a briefing room to recieve info on their mission to infiltrate a covie ship and their homeworld. However, it also says in one sentence:

"Assembled here tonight, are all the remaining Spartans save three, who are otherwise engaged in fields of combat to distant to be esaily recalled."
[Pg. 240, The Fall Of Reach]

Since Reach was only attack a few days later, I don't think those Spartans would have come back on time...so were they killed in action or what??? Yet, in The First Strike, the Chief marks all but the remaining Spartans as missing in action, which must include the 3 one who were away...so what gives??

i just have to say this even if its a little late to, sam blew up with the ship because he had a hole in his armor from plasma/bullets/some covie weapon hit so he couldnt get into space to be rescued. he had to die with the ship because there was no alternative. it was either die in space or die on the ship. he had no way or choice to live.

Having just finished First Strike, I believe that I can respond to this.

I think that Linda, Will, and Fred will show up in Halo 2. Why else would they have survived? They were with John on his trip to Earth, so how could they *not* be with him?

Kelly and Dr. Halsey, I have absolutely no idea what they could be doing.

I think that the SPARTANs will be a team in Halo 2. And I don't think it will take away from the game any either. I know we haven't seen a screenshot or whatever with them in it, but we don't even know the major plot points of Halo 2, so that's really a moot point.

In any case, Halo 2 is going to be the biggest, most bad assed game ever. And I'm going to get XBOX LIVE just so I can play online

Linda, Fred, Will, Kelly, and Halsey are, as far as we know, alive and well. There's nothing suggesting that they're dead. Hopefully they'll show up in Halo 2.

I agree, the plotline of the novels was collaborated with Bungie, so why would bungie keep any Spartans alive if they were going to be completely left out of the games?

because bungie did not keep them in the story, the only thing that kept them in the story was a third party book.... that bungie did not actually write

I believe that Linda, Will, and Fred will be in Halo 2 but on Different Missions. There are probally more Places than New Mombassa that need a Spartan's help.

It could be that you meet up at one point where the game gets harder. Like in NM, when the Phantom's all unleashed Brutes. If you read the books, you'll see that the Brutes are at the same agility and speed/power etc level as the Spartans.

i dont even remember who lived. i was just reading it for the covenant killing... and plus, with the spartans, they all have those basic names that dont stand out so i cant remember jack

also i dont think that bungie would follow the books exactly so i say there will be no other spartans in the game
