On every thread that a mod is posted is some asshole telling the guy to "be original" cause people have already done the "platform" thing or whatever...give it a rest already, maybe the guy didn't like where the platforms were on the other mod, maybe he thought this one offered better game play. In my eyes its roughly equivalent to telling a guy that his skin for the warthog sux, cause, well....skins have been done. It doesn't matter that his is different, a skin has been made before...apparently it doesnt' matter if its better or not. Just dumb. Plus, as far as I am concerned, if you want to really break it down, there are only two original people on this site: Mono and Gren. (and a very, very small handful of others) Everyone else is just doing shit they have already done, so the rest of you people that think your shit is so hot, need to let that sink in.
I doubt my post here will have any influence on anyone here, but I just felt it necessary to say. Maybe atleast one person will realize, you know, maybe instead of just calling the guy a noob and putting him down, maybe I could share some of my experience with him and maybe help him make a mod that he wanted to make, but wasn't quite sure how. Maybe, just maybe, somebody might help someone make a really good mod instead of a mediocre one. I mean, if this site isn't for exchanging info on how to do stuff, then what is it for?

BlackOps, the others against you have quite valid points. Basically everything you said is going to get turned on you right now.
First of all, the log mods. I don't know about you, but they are dumb and annoying. Don't deny that fact. They were nice for the first 1/2, maybe even 3, but after that, no one cared anymore. Log mods became old and dumb, and a lot of them were just that -- log mods. Now, even the platform mods are getting dull. No one wants them anymore.
Then, the conversions. Like someone else here said, a lot of n00bs are doing them now, somehow understanding the tutorial enough, and moving the spawn points and nothing more. Wow, thats great, n00bs. Another log mod-like map! Go fall in a hole for God's sake, and don't come back until you can produce something a little higher in quality.
As for not liking how some other log mod is made/positioned, etc., so what? Oh well... it's another log mod to the vast majority of us here, and it's old. Old and boring, just like the other hundred of them. And they just keep coming, and coming, and coming! They're a never ending flood from the n00bs. If these things had a value on the market, people would have to pay you to download it, they're so dumb.
Then, for the rest of us thinking we're hot-shit, you're looking at it wrong. Mono and Gren have done a limited amount of things. They have made programs, and a few mods here and there. We basically use their tools to our advantage, and do new, awesome, intersting mods with the assistance of those tools. They can't do everything for us... that'd be hell on Earth here...
As for calling people n00bs, I believe that many of us have that right reserved to us. When people come in here posting questions like "Why can't my log mod work?" or "Why can't HMT turn my Longsword into 300 doors?" you just can't help yourself but to flame them and call them n00bs. For God's sake, Mr. Search is right fucking up there. It doesn't take the best vision a person can possibly have to notice the damn link up there. Anyone who doesn't notice it, or know that there is a search button in basically EVERY forum out there, really deserves to burn in a pit somewhere. But, we can't do that. So, instead, we flame them, and call them n00bs -- exactly what they are. People who are new to something, but can't show common sense at all, and don't know that there is a damn search button. I mean, Gren has already had to cut back on many things here... Sigs and avatars, for example. The n00bs topics are just clogging up these boards anymore with stupid questions that have already be answered time and time again.

I don't favor the community here either. Most poeple here seem to be rude and have no respect for beginners who may one day have what it takes to make the mod you play everyday. Thats just another reason you guys should come over to the http://www.levels4you.com Forums. The community there is top notch and we still host your mods/skins/movies.
