Different Idea for a Halo League

Post by LoneRangerX »

Well in a lot of public forums, such as this one, there are clan forums. In many of these I see 'sniper for hire' 'driver for hire'. Well, we all know of course, no one is really hired. Right?

Well I had an idea. No, not real money, that would not only shoot kids away from the idea, but it would also detract most audiences.

Instead - fake money.

I was thinking it would run similiar to the NFL, or NHL, or MLB.

To start it, there would be 32 teams. There would be two divisions, east and west, 16 teams each.

400 guys would start out. They each are drafted, costing 1000 credits each. A teams salary cap starts at 6000 credits.

As guys do well in tournaments, matches, ladders, and 1v1, there price increases.

I don't know how to do the scale, and it would take a lot of weighting between kills/assists/deaths/caps, to make a nice balance.

But eventually teams salary caps go up, and guys cost more. I think what this would help to do is balance the game out. You can't have a clan of 10 uber guys, because your salary cap is going to be say 70K, and that #1 guy is 40K alone.

It would encourage practicing and teamplay.

What do you guys think of this idea?

There could always be set 'official torunament' servers. And these are monitored as per match scores or something...dunno, cause scores are so easy to photoshop imo.

I suggest someone maybe write a letter of suggestion to Bungie or MS (no like they would actually listen to their customers or anything). Im sure it is very possible for gearbox to make a pc patch with a recording of scores... Someone should write bungie or MS tho and ask if somehow a patch can be made for the xbox so records can be kept on mem cards or your xbox HD when you play halo...(you should be able to turn the keeping track of records on and off. and label and log games.) and there should be a way to upload scores via ftp to your computer and post them... anyways bells ringin im out!

There are PHP extensions for boards that allow credits for posting and such stuff like that, and you can 'buy' additions and stuff.... We have omething similar to it on www.pixelgame.com called the IBStore
