HaloMods "Classic" Read-only Archive

Hey guys, I'm new around here, and am familiar with certain aspects of Hacking Halo (HHHT, Moving things around in Sparkedit, Skins and Changing Properties of weapons, bipeds, and vehicles in HMT) However there are a couple of things I have seen and looked around for instructions on, but haven't been able to find.

I've seen people with modded Xboxi that have customized HUD messages such as Press X to enter Puma, Blah Blah Was capped by Blah, Waiting for shitty respawn etc... If someone could point me to a tutorial or straight out tell me how to do this, it would be greatly appreciated.

When you see text changed, having to do with weapons and vehicles. ie: you have picked up a shotgun, or press x to enter warthog. That is done just by hex editing. open your cache file in a hex editor and do a unicode text search for what you want to change. for example if you want to change the shotgun. search unicode text string for shotgun. it will show up in the cache file looking like s.h.o.t.g.u.n. so just change it to whatever you want. i'm pretty sure it has to be equal or less letters tho.

for stuff like blah blah has been killed by blah blah. thats hex editing of the default.xbe file. I suggest getting halo xbe hacker from xbins. a program that will do it for you.
