need to clone a gun and make it independant of the original

I'm trying to make a gun that functions like the plasma pistol , you know chargable and all. but I would like to be able to edit their dependancies seperately to make them seperate guns. I have tried adding a charge to guns without luck and am not sure what else to do to make them more plasma pistol like.

Any help would be nice, but flaming is cool too.

ok so I kinda figured it out, sorta... I took the meta for the plasma pistol and injected it over the scorpion vehicle. I now have 2 plasma pistols but when I change the original plasma pistols projectile dependancy it affect both. Anyone know how to make them indepenant?

Well since nobody could help I thought I'd point others with this question to the answer. Apparently theres a tutorial in the basic tutorial section that tells how to do this. I didn't think to look for this in the basics sections, but oh well.

Ok I tried it and apperently that tut doesn't work well for xbox. Although I did figure it out, its how you inject it, I did not inject it recursively.

Why am I talking to myself?

I have been trying to do the same, I swaped the plasma pistol model with rockets models changed the user ability and injected tunk shell over the 2 plasma bullets, so I could have the nuke rocket, tank shell and a homing tank shell as a allturnitiv fire.

but I had no plasma pistol in SW so swaped over shelled with plasma pistol it works some times

Did that work for you? I finally got it by recursively injecting the plasma pistol data over the tank vehicle data. It worked perfectly, I can change the dependencies of one without effecting the other.
