Is this even possible?

Hey guys I'm new to these forums and I must say your work is amazing. I don't know if this has been attempted before, succesful, or if its impossible, I'm just throwing it out their. I am sick and tired of Halo 2's crappy multiplayer. I have played halo 1 through a tunneling service, but it just doesn't have enough players, or mass appeal. I was wondering (I am a coding n00b so don't yell at me) if it would be possible to redo Halo's netcode for easier online play. Have it redirect to a server, that would host online games. And offer the remade halo one as an .iso image that people could just burn and pop in their xbox (probably modded, but it would be extrodinary if this was possible on unmodded xbox's) I don't know if I'm crazy, and idiot, or have actually come up with something feasable, I just want to know. If anyone really thinks this is feasable, and wants to take up the project, I would give any support I could.

Thanks!

(sorry If I'm a n00b)

It's impossible. Because Bungie was smart and put a netcode on Halo 1, it won't work unless both maps are the exact same. What they did in Halo 2 was destroy the netcode so people who didn't want to play with cheaters would have to buy live... Which turned out to backfire on them  If they had left Halo 1's netcode in, we wouldn't have cheaters on live, or system link. But that's what you get from people that only care about money, instead of thw experience we get from the product.

Sadly no. The netcode is hard coded into the game... Unless we make a new version, it is highly unlikley. The Auto Updates try to fix the imperfections, but they will never come close...
