Engineer help..

I have finally got the hang of Hex editing. I can do many things, make skins, change music etc. Anywayz, i can't seem to change enemies, like i try changing grunt bytes to engineer bytes, it doesnt work. What am i doing wrong?

whats not working with the enginneer? (the enginneer is only on the silent cartographer and isn't a finished character as it isn't included in the game, you can have it as a character but it will just stand still have have no ai/brains

So what your saying is that i need to change the model to an engineers?
Because changing the byte values fucks it up, it crashes on boot up.

yes.. although i would suggest using hmt to edit halo since u r dtill rather new

Just because i have low posts doesn't mean I am new to modding, for all you know, someone who has never posted here could be a mastermind and better than everyone else, and i am not getting hmt, .net framework is too big, can't get it, dont have internet at home, and i can hex edit, it just doesnt work for enemies.

spartan 3 i also suggest just swaping the grunt vaule with the enginner value .
but give meta editing a try cause its cool too

Swapping values doesn't work, and as for meta editing, do i just search for the value in a hex editor?

change the biped of the grunt 2 the engineer
BUT
the engineer's r invisible so swap em with a covenant u no 2 find easily once u hurt em they turn un-invisible i.e grenades
that is if u use xbox not pc

I'll give it a go, whether it works or not i dunno.
I hope this let's me see the engineer, or would i need to change the model?

nah jus overwrite the hunters biped offset with an engineers biped offset then in a bit of the silent cartog where u no a hunter will be throw grenades around if u get it right u will c this pink lookin blob go in2 the air, plus it floats so yer LOOOOOOk

Wouldn't it be possible to overwrite other things, so it's exactly the same as an engineer would be. I want to have engineers looking like they did on that first engineer mod screenshot. I will try your method when poss, and see if it works!
