Hello, im very new. and before you tell me to, i have looked at the tutorial on using ppf's. I have downloaded the new map pack that just came out yesterday and got it installed on my box. If only they were all that easy. here are my questions
Where do i get the blank cache file, that is required for PPF-O-Matic?
Once i patch the file, what do i do with it?
How do i get more maps on my box to appear in the menu with the maps that were in the map pack?
thanks guys

Thanks alot, that really did help. couple more questions though (sorry for the bother)
Do i need to re-transfer it every time i want to play the mod of that lvl. Like if i decide that i would like to play the regular lvl and delete the cache, do i have to redo this.
Is there a way to get these mods as a seperate selectable lvl on the lvl select menu. sorta like they did with that map pack that was just released, could i somehow put them with the pack?
Thanks again for helpin me

yea, for the most part you would... I would suggest getting nmp 2/cxe... It has all of the best mods out on one halo... For more info(if you want to do this) go here
http://www.hxbdev.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=144 you might have to register a new name, but it IS definately worth it... Anymore questions just pm me or my aim is Grunt1287

Thanks, on his post he said:
We'll have a tool and a tutorial out before too long that will make creating/modifying/patching map packs very easy. Sneak peak...
Drag and Drop functionality for the following:
1) compress/decompress maps (no more caching maps on your xbox)
2) make ppfs (they're smaller and faster than ppf-studios - this dropped a ppf of a SP->MP cache file from 63MB to 49MB)
3) apply ppfs (if well named, it can figure out what map to apply them to)
4) optimize old ppfs (remove garbage at the end of the map file, and use better ppf algorithm)
5) unpack and repack the UI (MP map names/descriptions/icons, SP names/descriptions - when packing the names, the letters are pooled so that the new name of each map does not have to be smaller than the name of the old map.)
6) use this to make map packs and patches (to swap maps) compatible with the new "Halo Map Pack Installer"!
It may even have a jazzy UI or two
I think this is what i have been wanting to do, to add more levels that i have downloaded to the map packs
