General Church, what you're talking about is called softmodding. You can pm me and I'll send you a build of evoX, and I'll also explain how the softmodding AND harmodding works, just in case.
Hardmodding:
Simply get the hardware set up, burn evoX to a CD-RW, and let it boot.
Soft modding:
This is for people who don't want to void their warranty (a.k.a pussies). No, I'm just kidding, softmodding was my first approach to modding. Even though I opened up my box the next day. But that's a different story. Anyway, here's how it works:
You will need:
Action Replay (docking station)
Official memory card
Xbox
Either MechAssault, Splinter CEll, or 007: Agent under fire. (i suggest SC or MA.) If you don't have any of these games, make like I did: RENT THEM. You can burn them to your hard drive and play them later anyway
NOTE: THIS CANNOT BE AN XBOX-LIVE PATCHED VERSION OR A PLATINUM HITS VERSION, IT MUST BE ORIGINAL VERSION OR IT WILL NOT WORK.
OK, we're set. Grab your Action Replay, put the OFFICIAL memory card inside, and install AR from the CD. The exploits do not work with MadCatz very often, and NEVER with AR, they corrupt the saves somehow.
Copy the gamesave exploits for your game onto the memory card by dragging it from a folder (e.g. My Documents) to the PC database column (you'll know what I'm talking about if you've installed Action Replay.) and from there, find the gamesave in its respective category and drag it into the memory card column (make sure your memory card is in the AR docking station.).
To get the gamesaves, I strongly suggest emailing me at
[email protected] or PMing me for them, as i have working copies of MA and SC. i don't recommend or support AUF.

Now erase or back up any existing save of that game you have, if any. Copy the save(s) from your mem card to your Hard Drive. If you are not given the option to copy, only delete, make sure that you are selecting the actual save and not the folder. This is done by pressing ---> on the D-pad when selecting the save category that you want to copy
NOTE: MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR KERNEL AND DASHBOARD NUMBERS AT THIS POINT. THIS CAN BE OBTAINED FROM SETTINGS>SYSTEM INFO ON YOUR XBOX DASHBOARD, NEAR THE BOTTOM THERE WILL BE 2 LINES:
K: 1.00.aaaa.XXXX
D: 1.00.bbbb.XXXX
if your aaaa number is above 5703, you need mech assault.
Remember these numbers, write them down, you may need them during the installation.
Now, depending on which game you have, here's how it's done:
MECH ASSAULT: Select Campaign mode, then select the Linux profile. The installer will initialize.
SPLINTER CELL: Select Single player mode, linux profile. Select Checkpoint. NOTE: if you select level, it will not freeze.
AUF 007:

If you got an error message telling you to call microsoft support in various languages with a little number 21 on the top left, you used the AR or madcatz memory card. turn your xbox off and PM me. nothing bad has happened, do not be frightened by the greenredgreenredgreenred blinking of the LED. If the number was other than 21, MAKE SURE YOU PM ME, and turn off ur box. Again, nothing bad has happened.
Providing that you got the saves from me (
[email protected], add me to your MSN, or clanX Anubis for you AIM ppl, but file transfer dont work with my aim) and that u followed the steps in the tut, you now have a modded box, and your warranty is still valid. Suck on that, micro$shit.
