So i tried hex editing the other day, and naturally i forgot to make a backup of my bloodgulch.map file

, so now I can't play bloodgulch or mod it any more cuz the file is incorrect. Does anyone have or know of a site where i can download an original Xbox Halo version of bloodgulch.map? thanx....

um if your using the xbox then just get the bloodgulch.map from the disk unless u havent which will result in you not being able to play bloodgulch ever again and also going to hell.

FTP into ur box-
Go to the partition that your cache files are in
delete the blood gluch cache
start up halo and play BG
it will load a fresh cache file
IF you mean that u edited the non-cache version of BG, then check your game disk

not at all, actually i wud reccomend that
Go into ur x, y, or z drive and delete all of the halo cache files. It wont screw anything up. Just delete and then start Halo. It will reload them all again - but this time theyve showered and are now clean and fresh
PS - i sure hope ur talking about the cache00*.map, cuz if u meen bloodgulch.map, u gotta do somethin else

Thanks a lot frozenflames ill do that, however i am talking about the actual bloodgulch.map file, everytime i try to play bloodgulch, it says the dirty disc error, so i push A and boots me to my evox dashboard screen, any other suggestions?

Ok so i deleted the cache files and it works fine now, but when i play bloodgulch for a few seconds (and even kill someone a couple times like u do) there isn't an updated cache file.....

why can't i just be smart

OK here's the deal. When i play any multiplayer level EXCEPT Bloodgulch (which i will now be referring to as gulch) there is an up-to-date cache00*.map file. If i play gulch, there isn't an up-to-date cache00*.map file, but there are 3 up-to-date .txt files called lastprof.txt, lastmpvr.txt, and lastmpmp.txt. What the hell is going on with gulch? Thanks in advance, and i hope u respond so i don't look like an idiot thanking nobody.....

what do you mean by that there is no "up-to-date cache file??
All you should need to do is delete EVERYTHING in your XYZ folders, and then just restart your xbox, then play Bloodgulch and then restart. Cache003.map should be the BG cache file.

if you dont c cache files, refresh you X, Y, and Z drives in your FTP program. If you still dont c them, restart your xbox and comp.

To get the actual map files, go to your F drive then click Halo then maps, but make sure u make a backup if you plan on changing anything. If you want to edit a map to play on your box, play the level for a few seconds, then close out of halo, go into your X Y or Z folders via an ftp program and look for the most recent cache00*.map file (* is 3 4 or 5, i assume u mean multiplayer levels) and then edit them any way you wish and overwrite when done. WaLA! You got urself a new map....
