Post by James[GL] »

its probably in one of the dll's if someone can find it it can be easily changed (change 16 to 32) but u have to bak everything up.. and be very carefull. but its just a max # so it should be too hard.. ill take a look into it

I'm sure its more than just changing a number...The server engine has to control all the players...I think you'd have a better shot at modding the dedicated server to support more players...

From when I was doing some work on the Halo xbe a while back, I can remember seeing strings like %32nd that would support the fact that halo could support more than 16 players. I never looked into this to much though since it would have been a pretty big project to try and get it working for more than 16 players.

not only that, but bungie only wanted to support 16 players for a reason: lag. everyone would HAVE to have at least a dsl connection for that, which is just unrealistic. if you were successful, you could proly get some buddies together and play. but i got a question for you guys: anyone interested in releasing a halo trainer like the one on xbox? czns is what it is i think. itd really be kind of cool to have bump character... all you would need to make that would be a disassembler and experience in coding to find the global values that control cheat on/off.

I think you would not hack halo but something else. Like another program. It just feels like that for some reason...
