Help with changing 1st person view to 3rd person view sp&

I already swapped the master chief model with a elite model but i want to change the 1st person view into a 3rd person to view to see the whole model when in battle.
Help would be nice

I once spent a very long time trying to do this. It is far beyond offset swapping and I haven't been able to figure it out, although I've done some pretty nifty other things in the process.
Of course, I've been off modding other games for the past long time, so maybe there's been some new development while I was gone...
