capture the grunt

i know you've herd of a bunch'a people swapping grunt models for flags, and MCs and crap...but i was playing CTF one day and it hit me. It would be wicked cool to have a grunt in a map somewhere and you have to try to catch him like a flag, only he'll be running around randomly and shooting you so you. there wont be any teams, the goal is to find and catch the little bastard without dying (because he'll have a gun...preferably a big one...and he'll try to kill you) then bring him back to a certain spot to score a point. if antone kan help me with this please reply because once its done...itl be super cool. putting AI in a multiplayer map would be hard, but ill settle for one REAL player being the grunt.that would be fun too.please reply!

Replace the flag model with a grunt, add in the AI somehow, and give it a plasma pistol with increased damage, and move the plasma pistol spawn points to places where people can't pick it up...I don't think it's possible now, but possible when the Halo Editing Kit comes out.

Whats that? That's one of my old mod ideas that I made up, just swapping the plasma grenade model with the grunt model.

You could do this with the HEK...since total conversions are possible you would think adding AI would be a walk in the park...
Good idea. If you wanted to do this now I guess you could rewrite some AI scripts from SP...

too hard...oh well... but that would be fun. imagine it got stuck somewhere and all the players would be lookin' for the damn thing...teeheehee

Farklem manage to put AI in Hang Em High (he posted his mod already). And I guess we simply need a good modeler (say the one who managed to get the Wraith w/ skin in BG) and then include the normal speech of the grunts and voila, we got a CTG (Capture the Grunt). Don't ask me how we'll do this cuz im not a skinner/modeller and im stiil beginning with modding. But yeah you got my vote on YES, its possible.

what if the grunts were invincible except back whackin killed them... first to kill the grunt a certain amoun of times wins

exactly. hes trying to get a name. and for now, why not just import a Grunt model (3.5), and swap the flag with it? that would work fine

That would be scary... Thered be a flag running around and if we gave it a weapon and switched the weapon with a grunt you would have a flag with a grunt sticking out, thats just weird....

my theroy, it might work, it might not so here goes.
The closest thing the #1 is the gametype "Juggernaught" there is a varitation where the juggernaught becomes invisible.
Now, this is where it could go wrong.
In HHT, swap the invisble whatever for the grunt model (if it is possible)
then in sparkedit, move the Active camo where nobody can get it.
Then (if it works) the first person to get a kill becomes a grunt, and everybody has to hunt him, and kill him, the person that kills him becomes invisible, therefore into a Grunt.
