Guys PLEZE HELP!!!!!!

ok- im tryin to make a prgram that will benefit the halo/halo 2 modding community. what i need to know, (IN VB CODE!) is how i could make a program that could just browes for a .map file, but keep it selected in the viewport on the program, then have u hit a ratio button, and have it open that with that program. Help!
