HMT (Halo Mapping Tools)
Injecting .dds textures. You need the
.DDS Plugin
Then, you can save the texture.
The inject the edited one back in.
Good luck!

no, he wants ACTUAL treads, like the snow hog was gonna have, untill it was taken out......
try some modeling, or swap the tread with the tyre

Pretty simple download milkshape 3d extract the tank and the warthog and save the treads and paste over on the warthog lol im not even sure if this would really work since im new to modeling buy its worth a try hmm but if you do this you might only be able to use it on a mac or on halo ce since the vertextes will be diffrent so what you could do if morf the warthog bottm to look like treads

Ya, you have to have the same number of vertexes in the model, otherwise it wont work

Yes, and that is because whenever a game developer makes a game, they design 3D buffers for the vertecies and then classify them individually to each item class. In plain English, the code for Halo was done so each individual model was given a buffer that helped out with keeping the mesh together so that no matter what stupid stunts we did, the models wouldn't disrupt. So in order to be able to recompile the Halo game from scratch using the new models, you can change it to be anything you want.
Alternatively, you can take the tank treads and simply separate them into two groups that look like the snow hog's treads (so there should be 4 groups of verticies) without deleting or adding ANY verticies. Then inject that model into the tank's treads, then swap the meta of the warthog tires with that of the tank treads. If you did it right, you should have a show hog without textures.

And then with textures we get into nodes and more texture coordinates and HMT and all this junk....
... might as well just get someone to get .max files for you, I know it's possible as I have some for the Pelican and Longsword, but don't know how to do it...
