only way i am think you coldl do this somehow derive from the banshee on why AI drives that, but i havent ever found a way or relation to this for any other vehicle, they just turn the ghost/wraiths and fire at you no forward movement. I think its in thier actor variant meta but i have no luck with things that so obscure. I tried to setup a warthog with the banshee actor variant pilot, set and filled that with and elite and tried testing the banshee physics along with this <since somewhere in this meta behaves the ability to move the vehicle i belive> too see if they would make the warthog move, once i saw it fly striat away and ramed somthign given me an exception error and the other time, it just laucnhed my elite biped outta the vehi seat accros the screen and the model went spinnin off the map, was pretty funny to watch but sad since it didnt result in anythign better.
The banshee AI acts very much like a regular commander elite, given its primary fuctions seem to drive its flying ability based off its hover <ie a hovering elite biped in relation> it just moves around till it finds you then starts to shoot and then persues to ram you to death much like the enegery sword commanders thrash you to death. This is only noticable differnce i have seen with differnt types of AI effects on vehicles, evything else they just shoot or turn on the machine but do not drive it be them scorpions, warthogs, ghosts or what not. I still belive they have no drivable "scripting" applied to them since only covenant drop ships and banshees outside of scripted single player AI <due to triggers> actually behave any differently or move.

I think it has something to do with the name of the ghost. ghost_mp is different than ghost. And it probably gets confused when theres a different vehicle name in multiplayer. I mean, they drive the ghost just fine in single player! The banshee has the same name as the single player banshee, so the elites recognize it as a drivable vehicle. It could probably be hard coded.
Oh, the only ai that i've used so far is the commander plasma and energy sword actvs... Were you saying that other actvs don't ram you while in the banshees?

then why is it built into the banshee? thats hwat i want to know, it behanves exaclty the way it would in SP minus teh fact that when it gets to close it starts ramming mode. But i tested some collision model animation triggers and physics on the pelican in AOTCR and put an elite in it and he still just turns the ship. Dosent persue you like my banshess do in the sam elevel. So still looking...

What i'm confused about is how come the elite banshee driver and ghost driver act differently in single player than in multiplayer. Lot's of things probably get screwed up while they get transfered from single player to multiplayer.
Is there any way to make an elite think another vehicle is a banshee so it will drive it?

that's because the programming of the ai's mind in sp is special, because different ones are designed to do different things (example: walk out doors, climb in turrets)
It's not all in the actv.
For you other question, you can, but it takes much work like swapping dependencies, not just a sloppy meta swap
