Zanzibar Weekly Update 3

This week has been more of a planning week than a modeling week, but we've come to some interesting conclusions/progress. We mapped the complete level, from the base to the windmill. So we haven't got a lot of material for you guys to chew on, but we do have an interesting announcement for next weeks update, from that update on the screens added are in-game. So no more model updates, but pure in-game screens/footage. It may not be completely textured, but our texturing guys are working hard.
Return to base!
This week, it's been all about the base. The base is known to be huge and complicated, but we kind of prove that wrong this week. It's basically 2 floors with a huge electricity-thing in the middle, which is driven by the windmill. It will be a bit complicated to connect the windmill and the electricity(battery?), but we'll do our best. We mapped out the entire base, from the switch to the various exits and entrances of the bases. Some parts haven't been shown on the trailer, so we'll have to ask guys who actually played the game or watch shaky cam-vids (we prefer the last one, because some people tend to forget plus they can't tell as much as one frame of the place we want can).
Da SMG
We've also been busy on the SMG (the dual-wield human automatic gun), which is coming along nicely. We've mapped it to actually look SMG-like (where's that texture, GHL?) and the texture will follow soon. Dual wield-functions in the game may not be possible, but we still want this weapon in.
Zexaflex
ZexGX, our texture or h4xguy, has been on a roadtrip to make us some cool photos and create textures out of that. He has returned, and all I can say is that the textures are great. More about that next week.

and why is it you dont read the next line up for updates on the damn news.
i siad we got back together, this was all explained in LAST WEEKS UPDATE.
anyway i havnt spent more than 5 minutes on t3h smg texture

WHAT! zex is lead texturer, i am now only doing bits here and there,
my main job is now perfectly mapping zanzibar with stefander, and gathering TONS of information on every aspect of everything, even t3h physics.
/me finds pic of the 5 minutes he done on the SMG, will update
*EDIT* turns out the news page on my site was still from the old layout

sorry my bad. but yeah, we are back together:) been so for a week.
i fixed the page now.

Sweet work, the SMG grip needs a little smoothing... Also, semi-auto??? Isn't an SMG supposed to be full auto? I'm conf00zed. But nice work anyways!

Yeah, it is full auto, I was a bit sleepy when I wrote the update... By the way, the SMG grip doesn't need that much smoothing, since you won't be able to clearly see those things in-game. The back part is a little old, so I'm redoing that one to the one actually in-game in the E3-demo.

Wrong. Stefander modelled it. Accept it. Maybe it looks similar, but it isn't the same gun.

Hay i found the first easter egg. On the SMG It says LOL in halo letters in blue on the mozzle.

hehe that was just a temp texture.
anyway i think stefander didnt write enough for you lot, personally i woulda liked to hear more, so here is my extra addon to the update:
i have actually been doing textures again!
i said i wouldnt but i been texturing the base,
i have done a few NICE textures for it for once, zex doesnt seem to be doing much, tho he got us some detail maps for sand.
so to clarify i AM doing textures again.
turns out stefander is around 40% done with the base, and what he has done is perfect!
madrox is hard at work on a certain model which in next weeks update i am sure you will be glad to see.
next weeks update WILL have ingame shots
