Texture not showing up...

Well this usually works for me but i cant figure out y the texture wont show up on my map... i clicken apply to selected and everything but my model still looks like this:
any solutions?

oh, and just so i dont have to make another thread, how do you make ladders, the tut htat comes with HEK sux ass and Ive searched around but i havent found much, I really needed them for my map, LongRun. But if anyone has an asnwer to either of these problems, then please let me know...

1) you have one face selected so when you apply the materials it will only go to that face afaik,
2)DE SELECT THE FACE and CLICK THE ASSIGN MATERIAL TO SELECTION BUTTON SO IT APPLYIES THAT MATERIAL TO THAT MODEL -_-
