Need help with skinning (not a noobish question)

hey i can already skin pretty well its jus one of my friend seems 2 b having trouble ,ive went thru everything with him,gave him the skins ,he injected them,but when he goes on halo they dnt seem 2 work ,ne help peepz ? :roll:

when injecting, make sure its in the right setting. like if its DXT1 make sure its that. once you save it, that is.

im not 2 sure what you mean ? its a basic .dds file

i dont know where you got "basic dds file" from but there is no basic dds file
they are all different types of DXT but they always use the file extension dds

stil not sure ok il go thru wat i do 2 inject a skin

open a map file >go2 bitmaps>find texture>inject the skin ive made or d/led then close map file,and that wrks perfect 4 me,

how would i find which dxt it is ?

it is above the "save" button when you click on a bitmap
therefore warthog would be DXT1

ok i no wat it is but how would this create the problem im having,tld him 2 go 2 the exact textures i went 2 and injected the same texture i injected ???

if your injecting into shared.map...clear cache, i had the same problem...and even when i cleared out x,y,z drives it still didn't show up, but on my mod i had a clear cache

make sure if your usng photo shop that you saved the edited skin as the right type of file i duno if im hepin but yea check
