3ds Max error

Everytime i try to open up the map im working on it says this

An error has occured and the application will now close.
Do you want to attempt to save a copy of the current scene?

Ive restarted my computer many times and it still does this everytime. What should i do?

try reinstalling, make sure ur comp can run it;

I have the exact same problem with 3ds Max 6. I try to open it and it gives me the same error message. What the hell? Do your different views go all kind of fuzzy and messed up in the background? If you figure out the problem, PLEASE tell me how to fix it. I had a really good map going and it's all gone. Sniff.

i have the exact same hting... except i think mine only happened wen i tried to export a map... grrr!! anyway i think that the only way to fix it is to start over because i think it only happened wen i tried to export certain maps... maybe those maps had errors in them.

I think there was somethin wrong with the file i was trying to open. i started over cuz i didnt get very far and it worked fine.

ARRGGG!!! im so mad. i started over and was almost done when i got the same error again! someone please tell me if it can be fixed cuz i dont wanna start over again.
