I'm somewhat new to skinning, but I wouldn't say i'm a n00b. But anyway I want to know how do I edit cubemaps to make a warthog appear to be shiny. I don't know anything about cubemaps or where it is in the game, but I heard that's what you have to change to make the vehicle shiny.

Usually I don't post somewhat off topic stuff like this (I usually leave it to HunterXI

j/k) but would anyone in their right mind say they're a n00b in this forum? I mean come on with all the freakin' locations sayin "flaming some n00b" or "watching some other d00d flame some n00b" or "in the Anti-n00b HQ" you'd have to be the king of n00biness to post "I AM A N00B" (or bob

). </offtopicness>
O and BTW welcome to the forums srg_killa!

As I said wrote: Usually I don't post somewhat off topic stuff like this
Srry I was just making a point I'm sorry if this has wasted someone's time or other resource. I believe this is the
first time I have posted offtopic and it was only because I noticed something I found ironic. As I said before I am sorry if I have wasted your time or something but "everyone else is doing it" (posting off topic I mean) lol I'm just kidding, if you want me to delete my above post I will.
My sincerest apologies,

it does, u just have to look on alot of posts. To make a skin shiny, u have to somehow up the specular level, which is what cubemaps do (to an extent, it is nicer to have specular on the skins as well tho) In photoshop, there should be some way to increase the specular level, try looking in their help section for specular

Isn't it the multipurpose that changes the reflection?

Mods delete all the above offtopic talk,
this is how you edit shinyness:
its all stored int he multi, the brighter the pink int he multipurpose, the shinier it will be.

also, instead of just editing the multi or cubemaps, there is a plugin to set the reflectivity over at the files section in the utilities i think.. I have it and it works for me...

the cubemap doesnt do any shinyness, its just a bitmap in this case, the only time it looks any better is when it is used in the right place, liek the visor. the multi makes how reflective to light it is. and that plugin? its MUCH better to do it by hand on a multippurpose image as you can set idevidual pixel lighting adjustments

yeah... but its easier with the plugin...
