Looks good for starters, but you need more detail, though its probably still WIP right?

Dude, the whole thing looks like a extruded spline then you extruded all the side and stuff. Also looks like a huge poly waste. Good job for a first, you might wanna plane model it next time.

Movie critics don't make movies.

Neither are they 14 or less. Besides, there is a big difference between models and movies. Critics usually critique the meaning, character performance, and not how the movie was produced (for example, how bright an effect is).
Besides, I'm sorry, but every single person on these forums that is taken seriosuly (when giving critique) is an experienced modder/modeler.

I agree with Junkfoodman. You don't have to be super skilled in modeling to give out modeling advice. You can not model but still know the mechanics behind it.
The model looks good for a first.

Use more references. Neither a Desert Eagle nor a 1911 look like that.

Also, can I recommend a rendering tut?

many inaccuracies as far as pistol parts. no smoothing. that is NOT a desert eagle, nor a 1911.

From the name i thought it was going to be a new vehicle or something... Model looks nice. Evenly detailed but looks like it would take time UV mapping. Plan on optimizeing for halo CE?

How could you come to the conclusion that 'Desert Eagle' = vehicle? It's always been, and always will be the name of a pistol.
As for the model, needs some serious work if you're actually trying to make it look like a Desert Eagle, and as others said, looks nothing like one, or a Colt 1911. You need to get some references, or at least, some better ones if you have some already.
