Hey, I'm really into making new Halo models & stuff, but all I have right now is Rhino, and I was wondering if that is as useful as 3DS Max or gmax. What are some of the features of 3DS Max that Rhino doesn't have? What are some features that Rhino has that 3DS Max doesn't? Sorry about all the questions, but I'm sort of a noob and I'm curious.

Me loves rhino!! It's easier to use and it's interface is more userfriendly than 3d max or anything else! It's has all the functions you need for modelling for games, so i think its great!

ha no rhino is not. Its better for nurbs but basically everything else max is on the top. I could u see make some nice covey weapons and such with nurbs but thats basically it, all around max is much better.

What makes 3ds max better, though?

rhino is good for mechanical stuff, i.e.: sharp edges. max is more versatile.

How is it more versatile, though? I mean, what can 3ds max do that Rhino can't?

the modeling processes are more automated. look for your self. rhino is very un-user friendly. max on the other hand is very user friendly. go figure.

uhhh but ur wrong about rhino because its a nurb modeling program meaning non sharp edges so no its not good for mechanical things best for mechanincal is autocad its most acurate but the animation in max is far superior than rhino, along with character rigging and animating. and all around modifiers.

Ah, I see... But is 3DS Max worth the money? I mean, I've got Rhino, is that enough?
