Well, its been a long while since I last posted on these forums. I have been very busy for the last few weeks, I manage to stop in everyonce and awhile, I now see the forums taken over by names I have never seen before and most of the elders of the site long and gone, but no worries Im sure you new guys are great.
For the last couple months or so I have been working on a couple different projects that some of you have known about and most were not informed of. My first was a series of halo cg movies called Spartan CG. A series I was working on with some help by some lead names in the halomods community from time to time. It was a series based on missions discribed in the books done totally in 3d, no in game things at all, doing this has allowed me to have no restriction on what i do with them. Special effects were plentiful along with great physics and character motions.
Well my second project shyed me away from that project for the last few weeks. To make it easier on me (with getting 3 new screennames iming me a night with questions), easier on the halo modding community, and the 3d community I started up a 3d help site known as 3ducation.com Being a huge fan of Halomods I dont mean to shy people away from the skinning and modeling forum here but I just wanted to get the word out to help along the halo community in educating those who are trying to excel in 3d modeling and animating without having to search all over the internet and post here waiting for replys.
The site is mostly tutorials, but will have textures and models ready for download. It has an art gallery for people to post their 3d and 2d art. (I express for those with halo models to post them here for review and download and not my site, it is for art and i dont want to take away posts from this site), it has a set of forums, for information, questions, discussions, etc. Along with links, news, and information about the 3d world.
The tutorial section will mostly be for the four main 3d programs: 3d max, maya, softimage xsi/3d, and lightwave, though later there will be some for other programs like gmax, bryce, milkshape, etc. Right now only some of the 3d max beginner tuts are up, I am putting up the intermediate and advance in the next couple days, making the max tuts almost 300 in count and many more on the way, Ill be working on the maya ones next and so on down the line.
Now that I am running at a good pace with my web site I plan to come back to this site alot more often like I used to, to help others, and add to the community. Please visit my site www.3ducation.com any dial up users be cautioned the pages will take a very long time to load for you so I suggest just visiting www.3ducation.com/gallery and www.3ducation.com/forums until I get a dial up version of the site up.
Thanks guys I hope to be around alot more often.
