				Derringer WIP (completely Redone)

Model is done and is 903 polygons 2167 triangles, now I have Questions:
1. Is my poly distribution good?
2. Is that a good ratio between usage of ploys and level of detail?
3. Is there a good method to avoid non-planar polys?

I like the plane.

Note: You might need to refresh to see the wire frame I just uploaded, the new one doesn't have the poly count in it.
Again, criticism is
greatly appreciated.

that's really innaccurately modeled. it's a simple weapon, too. i think you must've had lack of patience or something of that sort on this one....
look at it more. for something so simple, you sure did leave out a whole lot.

try it again. this one sucks. you'll get it better if you do it again, i guarentee you that.

Ah snaf you're awesome. I had a hard time finding refs, thats part of why it lacks detail and sucks, plus I suck so, it sucks. Thanks for the refs.

it looks much better this time around. you picked a good weapon for a second one to model. i'll give better crit when i can. off to a nice beginning. yes, you do need to work on the grip, as you said. can you possibly add your smoothing groups and render with a dark grey background? you don't need to render it on a plane or anything. it kinda throws it off.

It looks like pretty good poly consumption with everything except the grating on the side and the inside of the trigger guard. A wireframe image would make it easier to tell.

Quick update, so I won't bother with the main post.

Did smoothing and optimizing the poly count some before I kill the symmetry modifier.. Notice that I have exactly 1000 polies in the scene, I feel 1337.

 The trigger is transparent.

I didn't put the grip on, as it sucks, would any one have any suggestions on how to model it?
