yo, i have been modeling wit milkshape and i have some nice designs but how do i once again import them to the map? I know that i need to export it and save it but when i go to HMT3 and ckick on [import model], it says

Cant inject model, too many more verticles or indices than old model.

how do i stop this and jus allow it to inject my models? thx for the help.

you cant add any vertices or indices. only move them around

well I didn't add any... I had just moved around some vertices, and alll of a sudden, HMT is flipping out in my face...

It goes back to that thing: You can't add, but you can delete....strange....

when you moved them in milkshape, the vertices could of unwelded resulting in a larger number of verticies, try welding um back together

Wouldn't it just happen again? If it did it one time, it could do it again.

We need HEK. HMT just doesn't cut it for moddleing. M$ really needs to speed it up.

Only use the buttons: Move, Scale and Rotate...the options like snap verticies together or any other buttons on the title bar will mess it up.

I have the same problem, except I'm using Wings 3D.

Any suggestions?

BTW, I just did a test that I open a model up NOT DO ANYTHING and export it back and it still says it has too many indices.

Sometimes you will get a bad extraction form HMT, also what has happened to me; if you, work on a model, export, then import a new one, the new one will overlap the old one w/o you realizing it. Make sure for one, you have a fresh model, and two make sure u start a new file before you import, and finally three only move things around not delete. I have even been lucky enough to delete a few things. Alos if you are unsure, export and then do a test import to see if it is going to import into the map.

Isn't what the whole thing is about? Try it some more.

that shouldnt happen...unless u imported the wrong model into hmt

That would be very obvious. How could he completely re-do something that looks like a ghost when he's tryin to re-do the warthog?

noo i mean mayb he overwrit the exported hog with his modeled hog and then imported it back. so he thought he was importing the original model when he wasnt

He could have done that. If you put in an already used file name, make sure you renamed or deleted the old one.

ya once u change the original mode, export it using a different file name such as warthog2 or something
