paying for 3ds max 8?! thats alot of dough!

can anyone tell me how you (if you have it) got 3ds max *(not the download)* but what you paid and where you got it...

gmax is basically the same program as 3dsmax just not as many little options and its alot more ugly than 3ds. But other than that mapping isnt much different with gmax, so yea take the free version and go download gmax.

have you even looked at best buy or somethign to see if they havea cd installlation?

Its so expensive cause its not intendet for individual users.A licence for 1 year costs 150$.
