My friends and I are going to make a series of movies. But i need a rigged Halo 2 Spartan. I'll be making the movies within 3ds max. So if anyone is willing to give me or tell me where to get a Halo 2 Spartan. I would be very thankful and put your name in the credits. Thanks again.

No one released any models of the halo 2 spartan. You can use fraps to record in halo, so then you don't have to extract bsp models, if your using any of the halo maps.

Look elsewhere. Releasing a Halo 2 model would be copyright infringement and illegal, and thus not allowed here.

if i had the models and bitmaps i extracted from my maps put into an archive, could i get someone to rig it all for my, not creating the skeleton or creating alpha maps and such, just putting on the skin or physique modifire and making it work, would that be legal?

If there were some way to send just the rig data, like the skeleton, and not the model or bitmaps, that would be fine. However I don't know if that's possible.

Well see i'm originally from halomaps.org. They pointed me in this deriction. I just figured because of all the renders on the main page that someone had one. I had no idea its illegal. Sorry.

if you extract one yourself, it's perfectly legal, as you have paid for halo 2, including the masterchiefs biped.
but, if others send it to you, they send material they paid for, and they can't make sure you have also paid for it.

Yeah, it sucks, but it's the law. Your best bet would probably to check out some 3ds Max tutorials and try rigging one yourself.

Like i said before, instead of rigging it and doing everything. Why don't you just record in halo? It has a halo 2 spartan, and jahrain just released his spartan tags

what i ment was, i have everything set up, skeleton and all set up, if i were to send it to someone who has rigged the model before, and have him just get the skin or physique modifier working for me, would that be illeagle?

actually, you can send the biped and the skin (its some type of file) for him to load on his mesh. and to whoever posted about not being able to unwrap, they are already unwrapped, just flip the uv's.

Ok well thank you everyone for all the posts. I did originally start rigging one but then the file got lost

Is it possible to get the official model out of halo 2 along with the bitmaps and bumpmaps. I heard that it isn't illegal that you do this as long as you have halo 2.... which i do. I would be glad to rig it myself i just need the model. The one that bungie released for halo ce doesn't exactly work. And i'm not recording anything in halo. I'm making the entire series of movies in 3ds max. I have the halo 2 elite. So no i'm not going to record anything in halo. I may though for some dramatic first person shots.

all true, but it's quite hard to find out IF the person has halo 2
i don't mean we don't trust you, but there is no way to be sure someone has bought a copy of halo 2, unless you go to his house (but then he could still have borrowed it from someone)
so, it's quite complicated lol
