Combining BSP Coll model and BSP visual model temp with Max?

Ok guys, I'm a newb at 3ds and I would like to know how/if it's possible to combine the two meshes from the halo2 bsp into one mesh temporarily so when i edit one the other gets edited also so that when I edit the collision of the bsp and go back to check it the visual part of the bsp and the collision look the same.
