Moddeling AR?

Okay how do I take the Assault Rifle Model and put into Gmax then once i'm done remodelling it how do i get it back into Halo PC??

Open the map you want in Halo Map Tools. Browse to the [mod2]Model tag. Select the meta of the weapon model, and click the Extract button on the right. Extract the file as a .obj, and then edit it in Gmax. Save the model as a .obj again, and import it back into HMT.

Okay I just did it and Gmax says "File Open Failed"
IDK If I did something wrong????

gmax cant import .objs
you need milkshape or blender

I still can't open up the weapon model in Blender or Milkshape.
I can't open any of the sub objects

Go to File>Import>OBJ then find your file and open it

Okay I moddled the AR now but when i save it in Milkshape it saves it as a .ms3d file and HMT will only accept .obj file.
So how do I get it back into Halo?

Do what Kiwi said except go to Files>Export>OBJ.
