This tutorial covers a basic of my clay rendering technique. 3DS MAX 7 or alter is reccomended for this tutorial. This technique of mine is easy to do, a basic knowledge of max is reccomended.
First of all create a 500x500 plane. Next open up the material editor by pressing "m". Under blinn basic parameters click in the gray box and change it to a whitish color. Next apply the material to the plane. open up the rendering menu by pressing "8" then change the background to white. Merge your object and then apply the material. Now create a skylight and turn on cast shadows. Finnaly place it over the object and press "F10" and click render.
